They're Hatching!

That's what Eli said yesterday.
I was doing marathon cooking of corn bread, chili and AWESOME cookies. Both the corn bread and the cookies called for eggs so I just left them out so they'd be there when I started the cookie dough.
Let me tell you that marathon cooking is NOT a good idea with a little baby and a sick toddler. Eli wanted to help, but being sick, that meant he couldn't (Eli's idea of helping is touching everything and taste testing it). Anna was SUPER tired and she's pretty demanding about being held before going to sleep.
Needless to say that at some point between corn bread and cookies, I took a break to calm down Anna and I hear Eli say, "uh-oh." Then, "Mommy, Mommy, the eggs are hatching! I sorry, the eggs are hatching!"
Yep, I look over and there are at least two eggs down and cracked on the floor. I cleaned them up one handed and realized that there was one egg missing from the carton. Where did that "hatched" egg get to? I'm hoping it fell into the garbage can (which was close at hand) because I don't want to find it via other means. Gross.
So we have hatching eggs over here. Too bad they didn't result in cute little chicks.

Cute! I love what kids say. I loved how today, when I asked Eli if he loved Anna how he responded, "Yes! I love my Anna!"

I made cornbread to go with our dinner tonight and totally thought about you as I was cracking the eggs :).

I had to laugh when I read this post. It makes me smile at all the things I have to look forward to! I'm hoping that you don't end up finding that missing egg somewhere that leaves you a sticky smelly mess. Not fun at all!

That's too funny! Even funnier that he apologized for the eggs "hatching".
