Our Friends

I will always be grateful for the friends I've had in life. I've been so blessed! In marriage, there are the wife's friends, there are the husband's friends, and it's a rarity when a "couple" friendship happens. While living in Maryland, we were blessed with several "couple" friendships. Maybe it was because we lived so far away from family that they became our family. Whatever the reason, we miss these people dearly. One particular family was Vance and Casey Taylor and their girls. We met them when we had lived in Maryland for about 7-8 months. A long time I know for being in the same ward but with me in Young Women, and Casey in primary, it took our slow poke husbands to finally get a dinner together for the wives to meet. I absolutely love these people!! A better example of selflessness and generosity I cannot easily find anywhere else (and I have some pretty selfless and generous family members). They are inspirations in many other ways as well. Vance has Muscular Distrophy. So he hasn't been able to walk since he was about eight. He is truly an example of optimism, living life to the fullest, being grateful for everything, and knowing how to give back. To experience a little of his amazing spirit read his blog.

He's a pretty powerful writer too.
