Eli's 3rd!

My little boy! He really is a handsome little man if I say so myself. (Isn't it a relief to know that you make cute kids :)

He turned three with so many gifts, Christmas will look scanty in comparison! I HAVE been more apt to spoil since I'm worried how he'll accept our new addition. PLUS he's never celebrated a REAL birthday yet (His 1st we'd just moved and had not received our things yet. His 2nd,we were flying home from London-a 14 hour plane trip, yeah that's REAL fun for a toddler on his birthday).

His gifts consisted of:

A new and improved tricycle on which Eli goes "so fast" as he puts it (He's quite in love, really), a reversible cape (Spiderman on one side and Wonder Pets on the other),

a wooden train set, a pop up book that makes sounds, a basketball hoop and a soccer ball from his grandparents.

Not only did he get his family birthday, complete with Baskin and Robbins ice cream cake, BUT on Thursday he and one of his best friends had a combined friends party with all the other kids in their nursery class. My friend, Susie, did an awesome job with the Winnie the Pooh theme. There was a little trampoline to "bounce with Tigger", a table of Legos and Linkin Logs (spelling) to "build Eeyore a new home", etc. They even had a Hephalump hunt where they searched for little plastic elephants.

Eli, and apparently ALL boys love fountains. This poor one was accosted by no less than two (as you see above) boys at a time.

I am so lucky I got this pic. So cute!

Her sister made both the kids "Huney" pot cakes. It was all so amazing. Don't worry I did contribute with lunch and helping to set it all up/take down BUT YES! in comparison, it seemed very menial.

Kelsie is one of Eli's favorites. He even gave her a hug and a KISS before we left! I so wish I had gotten that on camera! It was so cute.

Things I love about Eli.
He really is so sweet. He is a handful and quite energetic, but he is very polite. He'll say "please" and "thank you", as well as "you're welcome". He loves to give Zerbits (something we got from The Cosby Show) as well as regular hugs and kisses.
Eli loves his friends. He's still learning how to share, BUT he genuinely cares for them.
Eli eats his ice cream cones in his own way... very messy... by eating from the bottom of the cone up. It's pretty funny.
Eli LOVES the primary songs. He knows I am a Child of God as well as I Will Follow God's Plan for Me.
While many times he is just too distracted to pay attention, he does help and will often take his own diapers to the pail, help me set the table, or take various things to the rooms I ask.
He's my sweet angel and I know that even though the transition to having a sibling will be a little tough for him, he will love his little sister.

So Fun. I love the Honey Pot cakes:) I love your cape-looks like so much work.
It is amazing how siblings accept their own compared to other peoples kids. We were so worried with both girls and thought they'd be really bent out of shape. In someways they were later down the road, but they just loved each little baby from the start:) I hope the transition will be easy for you all. I think I am the only one who struggles since I am up feeding at nights and up during the day. Mommys just get tired.

Every day I keep thinking of you and wondering if today is the day we'll get a text or call that the baby has arrived. SO exciting!
