Yes, I'm very excited and nervous! Eli came on the weekend. Aaron was home and there wasn't that horrible DC rush hour traffic to worry us.
This baby's a bit different so here's our battle plan (as far as we can plan)
-REAL Contractions start/ water breaks (in which the following will change depending on what my doctor says).
-Call Aaron (if he's at work) to give him the heads up.
-Go about my day, timing contractions and doing what I can to get things ready for while we are gone.
-Call Aaron again when a) contractions are 10 minutes apart OR b) they are getting strong enough for me to have a difficult time (Eli's NEVER were a consistent time. They just got stronger and stronger).
-Aaron will leave work and hopefully be home in no more than 1 1/2 hours. Depending on how I'm feeling I'll drive to pick him up from the train station or he'll walk home.
*In worse case scenario I'll call a neighbor to take me to the hospital and Aaron will have to meet me there.
-In the mean time I'll call one of the several kind people who have offered to take Eli.
-We go to the hospital and have baby.
Seems somewhat cut and dry, BUT these things never go the way they are planned, right? I haven't packed the hospital bag yet, OR a bag for Eli in case he's somewhere over night... I better do that soon :) At least I've charged all THREE of the camera batteries just to be sure!
...and We're Back!
