Today I was tempted to enter the crazy madness that is Black Friday, one day I'd happily avoid for the rest of my life! Not only was I tempted, but I made it a COMPLETE family outing! The temptation: A full session CD for $49.99 (originally $149.99) at JC Penny Portraits.
Not good enough for you to have braved it yourself? You must not have kids yet... :) The offer saved us a bundle in both money and sanity. When you can get all the pictures on CD, it dramatically decreases the time you spend, after your session choosing pictures and sizes, etc.
Last year we were forced to listen to ALL our picture options for an hour while Eli had an epic meltdown (you'd think they would want us out of there too... oh well). Today, I just looked at the pics and said, we want the cd. No trying to up-sell me or anything! I guess they wanted to move quickly too. Yeah!
We had to wait 1 1/2 hours but I was prepared for almost any disaster with lunch for Eli and pumped milk for Anna. We decided to walk around the mall while we waited.
I say I was prepared for ALMOST any disaster. Sadly, I wasn't prepared for my yet to be potty trained 3 year old to leak! Not having brought any extra pants, we went to the bathroom, changed him, "washed" that area of his pants and then spent the next 1/2 hour drying his pants at the hand blowers in the bathroom. I was grateful for the long wait then!
The sitting went fairly well. We did have to change and feed Anna so she'd be content in the pictures. Eli obeyed about 3/4 of the time while the rest he spent rolling out of the picture at the last minute, blowing raspberries at Anna, or being a rag doll when we were trying to pose him. It could have been worse, but let's just say we are ALL happy and relieved to have that over with for another year!
...and We're Back!

You are So Brave!!
Pictures are worth it though.
I would love to take some pics of you guys next time you are out-I bet little Anna will have changed so much by then.
Missed you guys at Thanksgiving! hope your pictures turn out Great.
A cd for that price? No way!!! I just spent $100 yesterday there getting pics, because if you spend that then you get $50 in portrait credit for next time. (I never spend more than $50 usually anyway, but at least this way I got more pics for the same $)
But I agree, choosing pics afterward is torturous! I wish I had known about that deal! Way to go!!!! And, I can't wait to see some of those cute pics now that you can post them digitally!
Oh the visual I get of Eli rolling out of the picture or blowing raspberries or being a rag doll just makes me laugh! Family pictures are always an adventure when you have a toddler! I'm glad you made it through! Now you need to upload the photos so we can see some of them!!
You brave brave woman. You should be rewarded...and greatly! We did brave black Friday, but we did it without Emmy. My mother and father in law let her spend the night and we headed out. I don't know if the mall in California was bad...but let me tell you...our stores were terrible! I can't believe you did that with two kids! I admire you. I'm excited to see your pictures! I'm sure they will be wonderful :)
