I love Christmas!
This year we made the venture to Utah. I left before Aaron so I could be there to see my brother return from his mission to Serbia! It was so fun to wait outside the security gates and watch my elder brothers crane their necks in an attempt to see him before everyone else, like little kids. I felt a surge of love and gratitude for my family. My brothers knew what he had experienced for the last two years and what he would go through upon his return. Their missions are very close to their hearts and I know that those similar experiences creates a greater bond between them. So my brother's home.
Christmas day was fun. Eli was more involved in the unwrapping process. We knew he didn't want to open clothes so those were opened by Aaron and I, but every toy was met with glee and the request to "open please". I forgot how many twist ties are used in packing toys ;)
Aaron and I always stand in AWE at the surge in Eli's vocabulary after we go to visit family! It's as though just being around more people than Aaron and I sparks a growth. He's been super fun. I also had that feeling of motherly pride as Eli confidently pointed to the picture of Christ that hung in the room we were staying in and said who it was. Usually I have to prompt him to say it. I'm glad that at least I've not been remiss in helping him to know who Christ is and that he is our savior (the most important thing to know at this time of year and throughout life).
There's so much more to this post, but it's already too long. Without pictures even ;)

I discovered this year how much more fun it is to watch babies with their presents! I thought Emmy would only care about the wrapping paper seen as how she's 7 months...but she wanted the presents! It was very exciting for me :). I'm glad you were able to come to Utah and be with family. That's the best place to be when holidays roll around!
Your son isn't only learning new words, he's teaching them as well. Grant has learned the word "Mine" from Eli, but it's cute. He hugs himself when he says it. I am glad you came to visit for Christmas, I never get to see you as much as I'd like to though. Sometimes I really hate being a grown up.
