London Flight and Day 1 & 2

We had a fabulous time in London! In an attempt to make it a little easier to write and read, I'll brake the trip overview into several sections.

The flight in a nut shell. Eli didn't sleep (on an over night flight) until 2 hours before we landed. So... tired baby, frazzled parents.

Day 1: Checked into the hotel and tried to take a shower, but NO HOT WATER. A great wake up method but I knew I couldn't handle that for a whole week. Luckily we saw a sign in an elevator saying they were servicing the hot water and had turned it off during the off hours. PHEW!!

We went to Hyde park and saw the Prince Albert Memorial (Queen Victoria's husband).

We ate dinner at a spaghetti place and it was fantastic. Okay so most places we ate at were AMAZING. I don't know if they really are that good or if it was the whole camping affect where exhaustion makes any food more than palatable.

Day 2: Thursday we went on a city bus tour and saw lots of places (from the outside) and got a good idea of the things we really wanted to see. After, we toured Buckingham palace, tried to see Westminster Abby (closed for the day), went on a river tour (had a really funny tour guide) and then ate dinner (the only one I didn't like). My favorite thing for day one was the bus and river tours (tour guides are hilarious and make the tours infinitely more interesting than audio tours). Buckingham Palace was cool except no strollers were allowed and Eli is devilish when in expensive houses unleashed.
