Was a BLAST!!! It was so wonderful to be with family this Thanksgiving. The last time that happened was the Thanksgiving before Aaron and I were married!
We left Tuesday afternoon. This was the first trip we've been on that we actually left at the time we planned! YEAH!! Traffic was great. We only hit rush hour in Sacramento. There was no huge storms going through the pass and Eli handled the whole trip amazingly well. Sometimes I'd have to hold his hand but that was cute (until my entire arm fell asleep). We stayed overnight in Elko and it was so fun to feel the crisp, cold air that I'm used to associating with autumn and Thanksgiving.
We got to my parents at about noon and the fun never seemed to end. This is what filled the days at home:
Wednesday: Prepping for Thanksgiving, enjoying siblings, and the most epic game of spoons my family has played in a while!!
Thursday: Thanksgiving with all the siblings that live in the area. Yummy turkey BUT no one in our house knows how to carve a turkey. Thanks Dad for not teasing us about the mutilated, but scrumptious turkey.
Friday: Family pictures (just me, Aaron and Eli... Thanks a bunch Amy), shopping for new Sunday shoes for Aaron (I just happened to pick up a new pair for myself as well), a temple trip with some of my siblings and my dad, and an entertaining dinner at Red Robin where Eli effectively stole Joels fries!
Saturday: the boys had a racket ball tournament while the girls went to see New Moon! What a fabulous time! (Is anyone else as excited to see Sherlock Holmes as I am?!) Then, Aaron and I went on our traditional date to Leatherby's. We went on a lot of dates there so it's sentimental. Not as sentimental as the one in Provo, but still. Then I don't remember what, but there were a lot of games played.
Sunday: Church, travel prep, and games.
Monday: The sad journey home.
It was a great time. I feel bad that there were friends I didn't get to see, but there really wasn't time. Sorry. I hope all your Thanksgivings were as wonderful as mine.
...and We're Back!
