The Beginning of the End

This last week, we made the first action to prepare for our move. While at Eli's doctor appointment, we asked our pediatrician for tips in finding a good pediatrician in California. I almost wanted to cry. By wonderful word of mouth, we found our most fabulous pediatrician. Ever since that first visit, I knew that I could trust Eli to his care without a worry. I knew that he would give us advice and tips without making us feel inadequate as parents. Eli has come to know him as that mean man that gets the surplus wax out of his ears and pokes him in the leg. Our pediatrician is amazing to say the least (at least for us) and now we have to go find a new one in a state where private practice pediatricians is practically unheard of. Luckily our pediatrician is also amazing at telling us how to get the best information about local pediatricians when we move.

I hate moving and I hate moving even more when you are moving 3000 miles away from friends that have been your family for three years. It was hard to move so far from home and the people hear have been our family. They took us in from that first Sunday we walked into church.

Needless to say that as excited as I am to move on to the next stage of our lives, I'm heart broken to be leaving here without any idea when or if we'll come back.

You're right...moving is the worst! But I'm sure you'll find lots of people in California who will love you guys! And you'll love them too! Where in California are you going to live and what is taking you there? I didn't know you were moving! Good luck with all of that! If I was closer, I would come and help you pack!

Good luck!!!! I feel for you with the whole moving thing. When exactly do you arrive there? While I am excited to be in our own home, my heart just aches and aches to be in Logan still.

So- what IS that labor inducing recipe? Does it involve castor oil? People have been telling me that works, but reading up on that it sure sounds scary! I would love to go into labor fast, I just worry about Jason making it up to Logan in time to be there for it.

The best way to find a good doctor is to call the local hospital and ask the nurses. They know who are the good ones and who are the jerks.

Oh, if any of you want to know what our doctor said about finding a new doctor was to call any teaching hospital in the area and ask for the chief pediatric resident. They are the liaisons with the community doctors and they aren't obligated to treat all doctors fairly so they will tell you who is a dud and who is not. Great huh?
