Here's how this little bub is developing.

He still is not a fan of tummy time. Who would when you can see all your world much easier when you're on your back?
He is very opinionated. I've got him trained like Pavlov. He knows when food is coming and it's hilarious when he gets all excited and then upset that I'm not fast enough for his liking. I've definitely have my work cut out for me.
He loves to coo and smile! It's so wonderful to go get him when he's woken up and see that HUGE grin spread across his face. He even does it in the middle of the night and it makes it very hard for me to do the minimal to get him back to sleep. I just want to play with him.

His favorite games: Patty Cake (we're making an Eli cake that's why), itsy-bitsy spider, and (now that it's winter) once there was a snow man. Aaron and I both are not huge fans of spiders so we have changed Itsy-Bitsy spider to Little Fluffy Squirrel. It goes as follows.
The little fluffy squirrel
ran up the big oak tree.
Down came the ran
and made the squirrel flee.
Up came the sun
and dried up all the rain.
And the little fluffy squirrel
ran up the tree again!

Eli now knows what toys of his make noise. We bought these hanging rattles and we'll move them around on his hanging toy bar and he'll change punching hands depending on what side it's on. Today I he surprised me by actually grabbing the rings that hung too. He didn't hold it for very long, but there was definite grabbing! He'll stare at his hands and he's even started putting things in his mouth!
Now many of my family members have heard that Eli is a loud sleeper. I have to both agree and disagree with this one. He is loud when he falls asleep and loud when he's waking up. Once he's asleep however, he's pretty quiet. There have been times when Aaron and I have to bend down pretty close to see if he's still breathing. Then again, maybe I've just gotten used to the noise. I would say that I have become a lighter sleeper since Eli was born, but I don't think that's the case. The other week, I went to bed with Eli and fell asleep. I when I woke up Aaron had brought him in after he had woken up and cried for fifteen minutes (right by my head) and I didn't wake up.
He's finally getting into a routine. He's actually taken to it quite easily. I thought when we started it, he would fight and fight. When he's tired we sing him a song, read a story, wrap him up tight and put him down. Sometimes it takes longer than others, but overall he seems to enjoy it.

I love this little boy. It's amazing. A friend of mine put it just right when she said about her baby. "I don't even know this little person, but I sure love her." I feel the same way about Eli. Aaron and I loved him from the moment we knew he was there. That love has grown ever since. We still don't know him all too well. His personality is still budding. We just know that he's ours, he loves us, and we would be so empty if he wasn't a part of our family. It's amazing how a hole that you didn't even know was there can be filled with a little one.
We love you Eli!
