Things I Like

Today, I've been thinking allot about movies and the like. This being the case, Aaron and I had some pretty good discussion. Do you have those movies you like, but would never really recommend them to others because they are borderline silly? Well, the movie that's like that for me is "George of the Jungle". I think it's absolutely hilarious! It's witty and really it makes fun of itself a lot. What more could you ask for?

Don't you love those actors that are just so diverse? We all know that Tom Cruise, Mel Gibson, and Meg Ryan will always play their character roles as the hero/heroine. The same was true for Harrison Ford until "What Lies Beneath" came out. Wow, way to really take the audience by surprise. Anyway, we just saw the third pirate movie today and so of course Johnny Depp came up. Wow, what an actor! Really, I'd like to dare anyone to dispute his abilities. He's such a diverse actor. A good guy in movies like "Chocolate" and "Benny & June" then he totally creeps you out in "Secret Window"! I love it! You can totally love him in one movie and then be so afraid of him in another. Another actor that does this, for me anyway, is Alan Rickman. Emma Thompson kind of put that ability forth in the movie "Stranger than Fiction". It definitely wasn't the role I'm used to seeing her in. Other actors have tried this and I have to say, I don't think they've succeeded in winning my vote. While I leave you all to your own opinion, that can't stop me from expressing mine. Jack Nicholson will always be Joker. I've not seen in him a movie after that without feeling like he is pure evil (hey, I was little when I saw that movie. Maybe that's why). Kevin Bacon is the same way too. "River Wild" really ruined him for me. I think the only other movie I've liked him in is "Trimmers" and I refuse to watch "Foot Loose". So there you have my opinions on actors. Over all I like the third pirates better than the second because the storyline got my attention better. I will always love the first more though. The same happened with Lord of the Rings. Anyway, I hope if you read this you'll be entertained and get some movie referrals. If not, oh well. Happy father's day to all those out there who are dad's or potential dad's.

Here's a movie referral from me to you: Last night Blake and I went and saw Nancy Drew. So charming! Definitely not a high adventure action flick, but it was good, clean fun -- with a neat little mystery besides. I think you'd like it.

Lindsay, I do want to see Nancy Drew. I loved reading those books when I was younger. Thanks.

Carrie- Just one question, why in the world would you ever refuse to see Foot Loose? I love that movie and Kevin Bacon was so good in it.

Well, Britt. It's probably the combo that I don't like Kevin Bacon and the fact that I saw Foot Loose at Hale Center Theater and I was a little bored with it. Sorry. I'm glad you like it though.
