I love thunder storms and one things the east offers allot of is thunder storms. They come suddenly too. It will be pretty warm with just an overcast of clouds (which really takes a load off the heat). Then suddenly there's a wall of water pouring down! Last night we had a doozy complete with lightening, thunder, and a power outage. I love the smell of rain and I love the feeling it gives me of wanting to cuddle in a blanket with hot chocolate (not here however) and listen. I'm just grateful that I get to experience them a whole lot more often than I ever did while living in Utah.
Another thing I love about Maryland are the lightening bugs. I have so many fond memories of catching lightening bugs at my grandparent's house in Louisville, KY. It also reminds me of a story about my mom that I never dreamed possible, my mom being who she is (not a bug person). She and my aunt would catch the lightening bugs and when the tails lit up, they would rip the bums off the bugs and put them on their fingers so it was like a glow in the dark ring! I hadn't seen them around here until this summer and I was so excited when I did. It made me wish we lived in a safer neighborhood and that we had little kids to watch run around and catch them.
Aldi's. Why don't they have this store in Utah? It's fantastic and really helps out our budget. It's this little grocery store where you bag yourself. So they don't have to pay employees to bag. That makes things cheaper for the shopper. It's really small so it's not very diverse, but when you save between $1-$2 on milk and allot of other stuff, it leaves room in your budget to still get the more specialized food without going over.
There's tons of other stuff like the proximity to historical sites and the like, but that's all given when someone lives in DC. Anyway friends, if you are ever out here visiting, we'd love to see you so give us a call.

Oh my goodness -- I LOVE Aldi! It's pretty much the best little grocery store ever. I'll be sad to ever have to move away from them.
