It's not real, it was just fiction.

These are the words I said over and over to myself last night as I was trying to go to sleep and try to get the very depressing story out of my head. As some of you know, one of Aaron and my's favorite things to do together is listen to books on tape. We started listening only when we traveled, but sometimes we'd check out more books than we needed and voila we now listen to them at home. Most of the time we check out authors we know so we won't be bombarded with inappropriate dialogue and content. A couple of times we've decided to take the plunge and look for new authors. Aaron has been luckier at finding clean authors than I am, but we've gotten lucky several times (That's how I discovered the Amelia Peabody series by Elizabeth Peter's). Well, this last trip to Gettysburg, we also decided to look for new authors. We got the books Most Wanted, Total Control, and The Book of Fate. While all of them had a few really horrible swear words, the only one we stopped listening to for language was Most Wanted. Maybe we should have stopped with the others (I think I'm a little desensitized) but we were already hooked into the story. We HAD to know what happened.
Anyway, we just finished Total Control and the ending is so depressing! The whole book there's always this small hope that things will work out, and then WHAM! It just left you with an ending that brought no closure to a bad situation. I hate those endings! It was such an intriguing book and it was great for Aaron and my's frequent pausing to discuss our own theories about who done it. So all in all I have mixed feelings about the book. If you want to read it, just beware of the language sometimes. If you are not going to read it and want to know more of what I'm talking about, let me know and I'll write you a personal e-mail. I just don't want to ruin a book for anyone who might have it one their reading list.

I love getting sucked into books like that. :)
