New Year

FIRST: To anyone besides me who prayed that our radio would be working on our drive THANK YOU. There were absolutely NO problems with our radio on our drive. You are all life savers!

My testimony of why we need others in our lives grows every year... every day really. Our Christmas trip to Washington was wonderful. It was great to see family (so rare it seems). Being at Aaron's sister's house and seeing how they are as a family was inspiring. Sometimes I find myself driving around running errands and I think, "What AM I doing in life?" Sometimes I feel like it's all so surreal. Like I'm pretending to play house and that one day I'll wake up and I'll be five again hoping to be an "adult".

If I could have one New year's wish it would be a complete character revamp. I swear I used to be fun loving, creative (in some areas), laughing, tactful, etc. I don't know what has made me so stressed out over the years!

Anyway, as a family we've decided to work on three things.
1- Be healthy: Exercising and eating better.
2- Be kind: learning to share, talk, and act nicely to each other and others.
3- Be clean: Mostly this applies to the apartment's condition, but it also applies to other hygienic things like flossing, etc.

Personally I have a few more.
1- Read all of the Standard works. My mom said she used to do this every year in high school and college.
2- Learn to draw better. Aaron got me a drawing book and we've been slowly buying the supplies. I'm going to take a "class" (me and the book) every Saturday at the library when Aaron is home.
3- Get to my pre-pregnancy weight
4- Be better in all my roles of life.

I know what you mean about growing up...sometimes I feel the same way about waking up and discovering I'm 5 and wanting to be an adult :). Although there are days that are hard, I do love being older and a wife and Mommy. But, no matter how hard we try, there are always days when we feel stressed. I think it just comes with the titles that we hold. I'm sure you are still just as fun loving as you have always been!
I love the goals that you've set for yourself. Especially the flossing. The Dental Hygienist in me is very proud of you! :)

Good for you! I don't think I have EVER made a New Year's resolution before. Maybe I should start. Good luck with your goals! And I still think you are just as fun loving as you've always been, just more responsible, which unfortunately comes with being an adult, wife and mother.
