WHEW!

Finally, FINALLY! Family pictures are OVER. This morning was great! We got all ready and spiffed up with time to spare and we were off to the studio.

A 15 minute wait... NO PROBLEM. Eli is in such a good mood!

Eli steps curiously into the studio and sees... a green glitter ball and a pink balloon. Since we don't want either of these in the picture we try to persuade him to give them up. NOT happening. The good morning... GONE.
So, just so you know, there IS a green glitter ball in our family pictures. Oh, well.

Getting pictures of Eli alone was like pulling teeth from a stubborn mule. We finally got some pics of him smiling as we played catch with the balloon between shots and sang "monkeys swinging from a tree".

SO so so glad to get that over with.

Picking the pictures was another fiasco! Eli, already in a BAD mood, was now hungry and we'd already gone through all the snacks in Mommy's purse.
The photographer made several cute, but unneeded enhancements even after we said we wanted regular portraits (please just listen to us).
Thank goodness Aaron is firm and he let's the sales person know that we ONLY want so many pics. However, they fooled me into thinking the price would come down if we added one more. Aaron had to take Eli out while I finished up and paid.

BUT me, being slow and not just a little frazzled, didn't question the $85 spent.

Luckily Aaron did and we looked at the itemized list after we got to the car. Yeah, that EXTRA picture cost $30 itself and they charged us for a membership we had already bought previously. So, back in I go. While I'm so glad to be done with the actual pictures, I was even more happy to get the $54 back from over charges and returns. Let's hope our next picture session goes better or we might NEVER do family pictures again!

P.S. The funny thing is, after our sitting, Eli walked into another family's sitting and tried to pose with their little girls. I guess the key to getting Eli to sit still and be happy during family photos is cute little girls. Josh and Amy, can we borrow yours next time?

So glad its over for you! That seems like quite the fiasco. I bet they turned out really good, post pictures of them as soon as you can! I'm excited to see them :)

That sounds totally like our family! Dang glitter balls. We would have ended up with it, too. Think of what hilarious memories you will have with that glitter ball for years to come.

I'm so sorry! It's so annoying when there is just a teeny tiny window. Dang it. Well, I'm sure they turned out beautifully. We can't wait to see them!

I wish I could see your cute family photos! I feel for you... it is hard getting kids to sit still for pics period. I think Grace is a lot like Eli when I read your posts. Hope you like the photos!

That sounds soo intense!! That is pretty skilled of you guys to get eli to smile for the camera. It seems like any child in front of a camera for family pictures, gets smile shy lol. And then the parents have to do songs, jumping, making peculiar noises to even get their attention! We love you guys!

I'm glad y'all survived the photo shoot. The most frazzling part for me is selecting the photos afterward, even when I'm the one who makes a list beforehand of exactly how many pictures and sizes we need. When the photographer successfully gets your child to smile, they're hard to resist! I hope you enjoy them! :)

I'm glad you survived! Picture-taking can be stressful especially when you have an independent two-year-old!
