Words, words, words

Eli is using more and more words. Words that I thought would make my life easier by making tantrums less often or less intense due to increased understanding. In some ways this is true, in others it is not. In most cases, it also creates a good deal of laughter.

I've probably told everyone this story, but for the record...

Eli loves to play with our cups after dinner. The other night, he got his sippy cup stuck inside one of the bigger cups. In his frustrated anger he started yelling at the cup, " LET Go! Let GO!"

Milk is the general word for ANYTHING he can drink and SNACK is for any food. I'm just glad he's not too picky about what he gets for these food items or the lack of specifics would be trying.

He can sing parts of Popcorn Popping as well as part of the action rhyme Five Little Monkey's Swinging in a Tree. He does the actions too which is cute.

He says "No" back to us and during a diaper change there is usually a long strung out screaming no. Yes, my son seems to prefer to sit in his own filth...

When Eli is doing something he shouldn't and I tell him to stop, he always looks at me with the most innocent expression and says, "Hi!" I don't know why, but I guess that is his way of trying to sweet talk me into giving him his way.

I am very glad he says please and thankyou (and not always on command). Now if we could just get him to say, "sorry."

I am laughing. Yesterday Haylee walked up stairs strak naked an kept saying "poo".
So I went downstairs and found her wet diaper off. To her pee and poo mean the same. Let's just say I was releived there was no poo.
lol.

That cup story is hilarious!!!! I think the whole "hi" thing is awesome. Every time I say "uh-uh" or "no" to Grace (even NICELY) she starts bawling. It is super frustrating. So I would take the "hi" reaction any time!!! What a cutie. Although, I hope you get to post a pic soon, I'm sure he's so big now!

I think it is awesome he is talking so well. I think Svea figures there is so much talking going on, why should she bother to join in. She only says about 3 words and then will mimic a ton of other ones.
