Elastic

It's amazing how a heart can be stretched so far. How a family can be spread all over and it seems like my heart stretches with them. Then you get married and it stretches even farther as in-laws enter. Then you make dear friends and move and it stretches even more. When it's been a while since I've seen them, the ache of the stretch is almost unnoticeable, but then you see them again and when you or they leave, the re-stretching of those strings seems almost unbearable.

Aaron and I have many people that pull on the strings of our hearts. Family and friends are spread over three countries and coast to coast. I'm just glad that I have the relationships I do because even if the stretching is hard at times, I'd rather have an elastic heart that is ready and fit to accept and give more love, than a heart of stone. So, thanks everyone for being our personal heart trainers. We love you.

Oh, and thanks for all the advice on ants. They are now down to a minimum. What worked for us... a couple trips of the Orkin man (with careful watching as to where the ants come from) and those ant poison domes.

Yeah for elastic hearts. I dont know how anyone would live away from friends and family.
As far as the ants... glad to hear they are under control. With our ant problem I finally (being the cheapo I am) bought some bug spray at lowes and sprayed around the whole house inside and out, everyday for about a week. Took care of my problem, but I have to do a keep up spray every month.
Be careful about the ant domes and curious eli.
Love your guys!

I love the imagery of the heart stretching in the post. Really beautiful, Carrie!

As painful as it can sometimes be, I'm glad our hearts are elastic. If they weren't, I wouldn't have room for all wonderful people I meet and grow to love as we move from place to place.

Love you, dear!

Love the comparison of elastic to a heart. I can't imagain moving so much, though it might be fun to travel and make so many friends from different walks of life:) Glad you guys are doing well.
