Without fail, it seems like everywhere we have lived has had some sort of infestation... Well, except for our first place at Wymount.
Our first apartment in Maryland, it was noisy crickets and scary jumping spiders, our second apartment (by far the worst infestation in my book) was mice, our third was again crickets and pill bugs, and now it's ants (which is currently working it's way just below mice). So I guess anything that has an affect on my food and cooking/storage abilities, I will hate it. We've already thrown away one recently opened box of cereal and I'm afraid to put anything on the pantry shelves. Luckily our building provides exterminator services, but one spraying has not stopped the problem. We're on the list again, so maybe this time will do the job. Maybe I should just put a standing order to be sprayed every week or twice a month. Stupid little critters!
Does anyone have a pet anteater that we can borrow?

Carrie, I just learned that if you sprinkle cornmeal down, the ants will eat it and die, because they cannot digest it.
Thought you would like to know.
If you have a problem with fruit flies, put out a cup of apple cider vinegar with a couple drops of for a couple days.
Good luck!
sorry, that was a couple drops of liquid dish soap
Oooo ants. They are a pain. We had them in our first house on Bolling and we would get them in Texas all the time. I buy the ant traps - they are off white and square, I think they are put out by Raid. They work pretty good. I usually sprayed the area where the ants congregated and then would place the traps around the areas where the ants were the most bothersome. That usually took care of it. Hope that helps! Good luck!
GOOD LUCK! Ants are right up there on my list too. Not too thrilled with those work-a-holics!
I also am a big fan of the Raid ant things. I know when the exterminator's came the problem almost seemed worst after. Raid is what I would use.
