The Last Stand

This upcoming month is the our last in Maryland! I'm trying not to get choked up every time I think of leaving and I've put off packing so I wouldn't have to think about what's to come...

BUT

the time comes when you can't put off the necessities. We're getting moving quotes, Aaron will be looking at apartments next week, and I finally packed the first box of books. I hate packing almost as much as I hate un-packing.

Anyway, we have some things planned as we make our last stand before heading west. Here are the things we hope to accomplish...

  • trip to the zoo
  • Eli and I get to go on a white house tour (sorry you won't be here Aaron)
  • hiking virginia's highest peak (our 2nd attempt as I had extreme morning sickness that stopped our 1st attempt)
  • a day trip to philli to see the liberty bell
We'll see how it goes.

What fun plans you have for your final days in Maryland! Hopefully they will serve as nice distractions from the laborious tasks of packing. I remember wishing I had a magic wand like from Sleeping Beauty or Harry Potter (did Merlin have a want in the Sword in the Stone when he shrunk all his belongings into a single suitcase and went off to Bermuda?) and a couple flicks and waves later and everything would be all neatly boxed up. Overall, good luck with everything!

How exciting!!! Moving to a new place is always fun - it's the packing and unpacking that is difficult. Hope you guys have a good time at the zoo and the WH!!! Have a fun and safe move!

Oh Carrie good luck with all of the moving. I really feel for you since we just made our move to AZ a week ago. Not fun at ALL! Now it's a bunch of unpacking. I'm not sure of your travel plans but if it includes AZ I would LOVE LOVE to see you and you could stay as long as you wanted.
Love you.

Moving across country- I wouldn't even understand that huge step. But I know moving itself is tiring and draining and sad in ways. Hope you make it to all the last stops you want to go. I know many people will miss you.
