This autumn has been especially gorgeous here and I wish I had pictures to post, but I'm not good enough of a photographer to capture the true beauty of what I see everyday. So this post will be about what I like about it out here.
The drive to the temple is absolutely gorgeous. When Aaron and I went to get Eli's blessing outfit the autumn leaves were falling from the trees and made it seem and look like a glorious rainstorm of colored leaves. It was absolutely fabulous to drive through! Autumns out here really are all they are cracked up to be.
I love all the things there are to see and do. I know if you know a place well enough you know all the activities that are available. Here though, it's so full of history that you really don't have to look hard or very far. There are battle grounds everywhere, DC is full of stuff, and the states are so small out here that a trip two states away is shorter that going from Salt Lake to St George. I almost wish we could be out here a little longer so Eli could enjoy some of the little kid aspects.
It's so diverse in it's population (a good and bad thing). We've met so many awesome people that we never would have met in Utah simply because people who immigrate from certain countries usually stay in the east. Since we live in a military area we also get to meet some really neat people and hear about where they've been and such.
All the trees. Sometimes I wonder how much the landscape has changed from 100 years ago. I know it's been a lot but it's hard to imagine there being more trees than there are. Sometimes when we're driving you wouldn't know that ten feet through the wall of trees is a shopping strip.
So as excited as I am to live in California for an indeterminate amount of time, after Aaron graduates, there will be things I miss about this area.

There are some things about the east that I, too, have really grown to love and will miss A LOT should we ever move away from this part of the country. I'm glad you guys are enjoying it out this way!
I love the fall. I wish Josh and I could escape to the mountains and get some pictures . . . maybe. Sounds like there will be a lot to miss when you move:) Glad you guys have had such a neat experience living there, and I hope you found that perfect outfit for Eli.
