For Better or Worse

I know we should go to the Lord in prayer about our life decisions.  When our rent was raised, it seemed a no brainer to find a place that was less expensive.  While searching, I didn't feel anxious.  Since losing out on our first choice, however, I've felt VERY anxious.  It was PERFECT for us.  What do you do when something like that happens?  When a place you felt so good about doesn't pan out?  We'd already turned in our 30 day's notice and they made it pretty clear it was FINAL.

Anyway, we've chosen an apartment.  It's the bigger one.  My feelings were that it was big enough that the kids wouldn't feel totally cramped and I wouldn't feel totally cramped.  It also has a decent sized kitchen (smaller than what we have now, but more counter space than anything we've seen plus it has a microwave, something surprisingly absent from 98% of apartments) and it has washer/dryer.  I felt... okay about the decision until AFTER I'd paid the deposit and rent for the rest of September.  Now I'm wondering if we've made a big mistake.  Well, as Aaron says, life is about making decisions and then living with the consequences.

I really just wish I knew that everything will work out.  I know I need faith, but it's hard to have it when you're wondering whether you've been given promptings and haven't listened.  Let's just hope that when we're house hunting, we get the home we feel is perfect for us... and that it will sell easily when and if we ever move out of California.  I like it here, don't get me wrong, but I miss family desperately.

I know exactly how you feel. I've felt that way for the past three years with trying to get into medical school and then feeling good about it, and then having it not work out. Having patience has been something that I think Heavenly Father is trying to teach me. I know everything will work out. But it has to work out in His timing because He ultimately knows when things are supposed to happen in our lives. I'm sure everything will work out for you guys! I know you Carrie :). You have so much faith! Remember that. It'll help you through :).

We miss you too!!!! And I know where you're coming from. When Garrett and I were looking at moving to a house there was one house in particular that we both felt VERY strongly about and felt right about and then it didn't work out so I know how you feel, it's frustrating. Love you! Call me if you ever need to talk/vent about life!
