Our annual trip to Island Park and Yellowstone was wonderful! I got to see all my siblings, their families, and even the hoped for but unexpected overlap with my uncle and my cousin's family! It was so fun to spend time with them and even have Aaron there for the first two days of our trip (You know your man loves you when he takes time off work to drive you 12 hours just to make the trip home 1 1/2 days later to get back to work).

some of the second cousins on Grandma's couch! |
Before heading north, we went to the zoo to see the new polar bear exhibit. It was so cool! Especially after having seen the Planet Earth DVD on the arctic.
 |
My little eaglets in the heat! It was HOT that day! |
Island Park was beautiful as always. This year we went to Mesa Falls, Big Springs, Quake Lake, the trusty (okay, not so much anymore) Old Faithful, and the paint pots.
 |
Anna and Grandpa at Quake Lake. I didn't see Anna's hat after this outing. I think she threw it away on the sly. |
 |
Eli at Quake Lake. He's going through a stage of only goofy poses. This is my favorite so far! |

That's Quake Lake in the back ground |

Anna and Grandma! |
 |
Eli picked me some wild flowers so we put some behind Anna's ear. |
 |
Eli throwing rocks into Quake Lake. He wasn't the only one. There was a contest with my dad and brothers. |
 |
Anna and Grandma watching the boys throw rocks and thinking either, "What are they doing?" OR "I can't wait until I'm old enough to do that." |

Lower Mesa Falls |

Waiting for Old Faithful. |

At the Paint Pots |
 |
Anna was more interested in her feet than the paint pots. |
The kids had fun getting filthy as always.

Finding rocks |

Tasting rocks |

"This rock is more chalky to the taste... a little more soft on the palate" |

Do you want to try? |
We had great times on the four wheal-ers.
Anna had some milestones. She stood up by her self with no support for the first time on Wednesday August 15th. I told her that she needed to wait to walk until we got home to Daddy though.
She's also become more embolden and slides off of couches, beds without gauging the distance to the floor and no thought of her own safety.

Cute pictures! Next time we will have to make a trip to Quake Lake, it looks pretty awesome! It was SOO good to see you and your kiddos (and Aaron for one day). Now we have to wait for Christmas to see you again! Love you guys!
I love love love Yellowstone! In fact...Tim and I are going to Jackson at the end of September and we're hoping that Yellowstone will still be open so we can drive around and check it out. Although...it will probably be buried in snow by then. Cute pictures! It looks like the trip was fun! Oh...and Emmy has that same green star shirt that Anna is wearing. She looks adorable in it :)
What a fun trip! Those are darling pics of your kids. I forgot Anna was a strawberry blonder too! SOOOO adorable, and i love Eli's poses! I'm so glad you called, and I feel bad I missed it. I hope to call you soon!!!
