Growing Independence

The children in this household have declared greater independence.

Saturday, we took the kids swimming for the first time this year.  Long over due and I procrastinated until Aaron told Eli I would take him swimming.  However, the payment for volunteering others for a job is, return is fair play.  I made Aaron take him back out swimming after lunch.  Usually Eli inches around the rim of the pool, but he ventured to paddle across the middle of the pool!  Go Eli!! The next hopeful steps in the swimming department is being willing to lay on his back and put his face in the water.

We're all squinting into the sun but I LOVE Anna's Blue Steel look.

Anna, oh, Anna.  She now feeds herself.  I can only get one spoonful in before she swats the spoon in frustration.  I first thought she just didn't like the food, but I finally gave her the bowl and she relished every finger lickin' bite.  So, she gets a LOT messier and I wish I had made more bibs from dish towels for her.

Happy Independence kiddos!

I love Anna's "blue steel" look too, too priceless! Your kids are so cute! I can't believe how big they are getting, and grown up too!
