Small Goals

Trying to find some semblance of a routine, and trying to keep the house a little neater than chaotic has been a little difficult of late. Poor Anna has not had NEARLY as many baths as she should and neither has Eli to be perfectly honest. We are happy to get Eli in the bath once a week. As for Anna... :) It's not very helpful that I would LOVE to have Eli potty trained by January (probably won't happen). So I'm focusing on small goals to try to get back to normal life.

Goal 1: Spend 15 min/day in each room of the house except for 30 min in the kitchen. This limits my cleaning time to 1 1/2 hours each day. Easily fit between one of Anna's feedings and gives me a feeling of productivity without completely taking the entire day or making me exhausted. Granted, yesterday this didn't happen and the apartment looked pretty crazy this morning! However, this method is working so well, that it will probably become my new norm!

Ha, that's my only goal for now! Next week it will be to find a way to squeeze in 1 1/2 hours of exercise each day when I'm exhausted both morning and evening, AND there's not a safe time during the day when I can expect Eli to leave me or Anna alone, OR that Anna will stay asleep.

Good luck with your goal! You are not making me feel any better about having another child. I've been so worried about how I'm going to find time to exercise after the baby is born and now your making me feel like it will be impossible pretty much.

That sounds like a good goal! I think you will do it just fine and soon enough your routine will be set in stone!

Concerning Excersis, my good friend gave me the best advice.
She said that some years-especially with kids she just had to take time off from jogging or doing anything too consuming. It helped me to be more gentle with myself concerning that. Now she is done having kids and is running half marathons and jogging 4 miles a day.
So I have goals, but tell myself it is okay to take some time off and get other things in order or to just deal with life.

For me the house just happens as it will. One day or a few days it is a mess, and I am getting okay with that as long as we are happy. Then for a few hours, maybe an entire day a few rooms are clean.
I know once Haylee hit 2 it was a little easier to clean. but before then it was a constant battle for me. All I can hope is people won't judge, and for the most part they don't cause their houses go through the same thing.

Good luck with your goals! I know you will find a groove that works for you guys and with working out. love you Carrie.
