Four Weeks

WooHOO! Four weeks until my due date! Of course, I'm hoping for an early arrival, BUT not too early. I've promised myself that Eli will actually get a birthday that is celebrated on his birthday in the way it should be (presents, cake, ice cream... no party, I'm too pregnant to brave that one).

How has this pregnancy panned out different than Eli's?

I wasn't sick as long... that's how I knew it was a girl.

I've gained more weight. Not much more, but still.

Anna has not had hiccups in the womb once! I'll knock on wood 'cause now she'll probably get them.... Darn it, too late. I believe she has them now! Stupid karma!

I get more aches and pains (mostly from chasing Eli around all over the place).

Recently I rented a video from the library as a refresher course to the birthing process. I was VERY resistant at first remembering how terrifying the first class was (I'm going to get how big?!). Let's just say that even the thought of pain makes me sick. I got sick just listening to the Phineas Gage movie in a high school AND college psychology class. Anyway I rented one called Laugh and Learn about Child Birth. The teacher is a spunky NY lady and it's pretty light hearted. Two days ago we discussed the 1st two methods of breathing. As a trial, the husbands were supposed to squeeze our leg as hard as they could while we practiced our breathing and then as a comparison, they squeezed again when we weren't breathing. HUGE difference! The funny part was when we got to do it to the husbands. Aaron isn't that great at focusing OR breathing. It's a good thing I'm the one having this baby. However, yesterdays session was the one that terrified me. DON'T show me pics of where the baby is at certain stages of pregnancy! It just makes things worse for me. All I have to say is that hopefully my labor isn't so different from Eli's so I'll get to the hospital on time to get an epidural, that the epidural works the way it should, that they let me labor down as far as I can before pushing so that I can get this baby out as quickly as Eli came.

The one thing I'm worried about is the size of this baby. I was a BIG baby (over 9 lbs). I just really don't want to end up with a c-section. So here's hoping for a small baby!

I'll post pics as soon as I take more and get them on the computer.

I can't believe you only have four weeks left! Crazy! That went by so fast (for me at least...and I'm not the one nine months pregnant :) ).

It's funny how women are so much better at handling pain then men are...Tim tells me all the time how glad he is that guys don't have to go through what women go through. They are just to whimpy :). Haha

Good luck during these last few weeks! She's gonna be here so soon! :)

I can't believe it's almost time for Anna! I am so excited!!!! I hope she isn't big for your sake too. When I went in for the ultra sound on Monday they told me that our little girl was measuring BIG so I am super worried now that either I have gestational diabetes or she will be a big girl or BOTH! I am so excited our little girls will only be 4 months apart!!!!
