Halloween and a Walk Down Memory Lane

Eli was a puppy for Halloween. So cute!

Aaron's work had a Halloween party. Each floor had a theme. Aaron's was Alcatraz (although they called it Morgatraz or something like that). They won the contest, YEAH, and Eli got a boat load of candy.

I don't know if it's the home study course on weight control, or the fact that I couldn't justify driving to a park that was just shy of a mile away even though it would have been so easy since Eli was already in his car seat from the Costco trip. Either way, we strolled along a road with artistically trimmed hedges and fun fences. One particular house caught my eye. It may have had more deciduous trees around it than the others, OR it may have been they just didn't clean up their lawn very regularly. As we passed, dry leaves crinkled under the stroller wheels and my shoes, the smell was pungently autumn and I got the smallest tinge of nostalgia for home, for DC, for seasons! The 80 degree weather kept me in the here and now, but I so wanted another taste of home so we went that direction on the way back. Sadly a leaf blower across the street made the air smell dusty and my autumn moment was lost.
At least I know that even though we are currently in a place trapped between spring and summer, I will sometimes get a taste of autumn.

Oh, sorry if the pics aren't so hot. I don't know if the sun just hates me, or I need to find out what's wrong with my camera but all the last pics have been crazy.

Eli looks so cute! What did you dress up as? The answer is simple, just move to Utah to get that Autum fix. I am sure you family won't mind at all:)

oh, and Check the lens, it might be smudged. That happened to our camera once and I kept wondering why until I noticed a finger smudge on the lense.

Thanks, Aaron told me the same thing. So I cleaned the lens this morning and then Eli promptly started playing with it ;)

Love the costumes! Benny saw Aaron and asked "What is he, a zebra?" Laughed so hard.
So what did they win for the contest?

What a cute little puppy :). I really like Aaron's costume! Tim and I went as Mario and Luigi this year, and Emery was a Ladybug (the cutest ladybug ever too if I do say so myself :)). We won our costume contest too! If it makes you feel any better...I'm freezing in my house today and there is snow on the ground. I would love to be enjoying 80 degree weather! :)
