I've told my family and Aaron several times that Eli has lost that baby smell and that I miss it. Besides that loss there has come thousands of other things that tell me, he's not quite a baby anymore.
The other day, Eli put olives on his fingers and made them dance! Such a toddler thing to do.
Today, while trying to get a movie from the middle of the stack, he tipped the pile on top of the movie toward the back and slipped the movie out without the usually collapse of all the dvds. What a big boy.
Speaking of movies, he's starting to know which are his favorites and will bring them to us. Right now he's really into Hercules.
He likes to play "door" (I don't know what else to call it). When I go into the pantry, he'll close the door behind me. I have to knock and then he'll open the door and say "Hi". I usually don't get "to come in" but I get to knock about 100 more times before he gets tired of this game.
He likes to gather all sorts of leaves and sticks and plant life from outside. He's such a little explorer! I love seeing him try to hold as many pine cones as possible and then scramble about trying to pick them all up when "one more" was just too much.
He likes to play horse and will often come over to me when I'm on the floor, push me over, and try and crawl on my back. We are still getting the hanging on part down, but he is definitely a toddler in his games.
As much as he's getting bigger, I remind myself that he's still a baby when he falls down and needs a kiss. He's still as helpless when it comes to being sick and needing those extra loves to wipe runny noses and watch TV with when he just wants to cuddle. He's still a baby when it comes to learning the gospel and... in so many ways I guess I am too. As much as I'm the parent, Eli will probably teach me so much more about being patient, having integrity, and having charity than I could ever have learned myself. I love you Big Boy!

Carrie, you are such a wonderful mother to your new "toddler" now! I love reading about how both you and Eli are growing and learning in these new fun stages of life. I'm grateful for your example and insights that you share of appreciating these precious moments with your active, mischievous son!
That is a HILARIOUS picture you posted of Eli, it makes him look like he's a terror. I'm sorry that time has come that you have realized he is no longer a baby. I am not looking foward to that day. Love you!
Awww- I can't wait until we get to play fun games too. He IS growing up so fast. But it sounds like it just gets more fun!
I love that picture of Eli! It is halarious! Reading your posts makes me so excited to be a mommy...only a couple more months and I'll be holding my sweet baby girl :). I hope I'm as fantastic of a mommy as you are! It amazes me to see how fast Eli is growing up!
