We Spoil Our Son

Eli has been hugely spoiled this week, even if he doesn't know it. After several months of an old moving box acting as toy collector, I decided that the overflow and general chaos should come to an end. So, with that, we took a trip to IKEA and got Eli a toy box

along with a child table and chair. The table and chair are for him to sit at to color.

My hopes are to teach him that crayons are only to be used at the table with paper and not on walls. I know what you're all thinking, "GOOD luck with that!" We'll at least give it a go. If anything, Eli will learn to sit in a chair without falling off.

It was also a spoil day for me and Aaron. Aaron finally got to put together his computer. So we now have an awesomely quiet computer and we are using our old monitor (which is still fairly new) that has a HUGE screen. It's taking a little bit of readjustment time.

I was spoiled with Eli's furnishings as well. I find an immense amount of satisfaction in putting things together so having THREE things to assemble made my day! Aaron keeps teasing me that he should buy ME a set of power tools!

Our next furnishing is hopefully going to be a bookshelf. Then I can finally unpack the three boxes adorning Aaron and my bedroom's corner.

What fun home improvement purchases! Will and I bought ourselves a fourth bookshelf for Christmas. It's amazing how fast they fill! And we were storing all of Alex's toys in a shoe box until my Aunt Jane gave us a cute basket for them. However, I imagine it won't be too long before we'll have to upgrade to something larger as he becomes mobile and more adept with grasping and playing.

P.S. I loved your new year's resolution ideas. I'm still figuring out what will work best for me to stay motivated in completing my goals. And thank you for your sweet comments. You are such a wonderful friend and I love you! I hope things keep going well for you as you continue settling in you new place.

Writing on the walls already huh? What have you been using to clean it off? I heard those magic erasers work great, but have chemicals that can burn kids. I better get prepared... I was the worst at scribbling on everything so I'm sure it's going to turn around and bite me back.

It's fun getting new furniture. Hope it works out for you!!!
