I don't know what caused all the excitement in our house last night. It isn't Christmas and we are not doing anything horribly special for Valentine's day. Eli, however, kept waking up as if the morning would NEVER come! Why?!! This child who usually gives Mommy and Daddy a 7 hour stretch of sleep was up nearly all night long! It gave Me horrible flashbacks to the early motherhood days where I had to let him cry in the middle of the night or get Aaron because I couldn't handle him right then.
Well, this morning, when I took this sleeping babe from Aaron's arms and tried to put him down... up and crying inconsolably. So I tried to rock him just to get him to stop making that whining sound that keeps him from really sleeping when he decided it wasn't time to sleep anymore. HAH tell that to a tired parent looking for one more hour of precious sleep that was lost on this child! Then he pulls one of his most engaging smiles and of course, all is forgiven.
Happy Valentine's Day!

I am SOOOO not looking forward to sleepless nights, but Megumi is helping me get used to it a little bit, she wakes me up a few times a night, but I don't usually have to get up, so we'll see how I do. Maybe Eli has a secret valentine that he couldn't stop thinking about.
Wow!!! That is a cute smile. At least you are forgiving so that even though the experience is rough, you can still appreciate the little rewards of being a mommy anyway! Keep it up dear friend! You are amazing!!! Hope the rest of your day turned out good! :-)
Haylee has been pulling that on me for the last seven months..."if you weren't so darn cute Haylee, I dunno...."
Luckily she is starting to sleep 5 yo 6 hours at a time-so 8 to 2 isn't half bad these days.lol. But they are so off and on. Elise woke me up twice last week at 2-I just don't know if I'll ever sleep a full night again. Ever.
Hope he changes course and starts sleeping again.
