It's the best of times, and the worst of times

We are in the middle of a wonderful adventure! We are both in school, living in the DC area, and now an upcoming addition to our family! As excited as we are about the upcoming baby, there are some things that I just wasn't expecting to have to deal with. It's funny how we take the bad with the good and I know I'll look back and know it was all worth it. But just so I remember the struggles I've had and how I've grown from them. Here's the best and worst of my pregnancy.

I have plenty of friends who got pregnant in the middle of their internships and they all said that morning sickness really didn't bother them. They were able to complete their schooling with seemingly no problem. So I really wasn't excited when I was suffering from morning sickness and it has made it difficult to focus on school. Now I'm nearing the end and hoping and praying I can get it all done in such a way that I will pass.

I have also enjoyed two wonderful years of clear skin after Acutane! Really Dr. Williams, thanks for helping realize their is life after acne. Too bad pregnan
cy seems to have erased these past years with zits the size of goose bumps again. Luckily that has only happened once (knock on wood). I can only hope that after the baby, my skin will become clear again.

Finally, I'm very very very excited to finally have a belly that hints of pregnancy. I know, I know that from the picture you can barely tell, but it's there and I'
m excited. So what's so bad about showing? I just never thought that getting maternity clothes just isn't one or two outfits. It's a whole new wardrobe! However, I did finally wear some maternity pants that a friend lent me and they fit great and felt great! So the fact that I will be comfortable in maternity clothes to look forward to even if pregnancy will get more and more uncomfortable (at least I hear ;) ). All in all I'm so excited to be having this adventure! I couldn't be more excited about being a mom! My dream is finally coming true!!

So fun to talk with you the other day! (We should seriously do that more often.) Also very glad to hear (via the phone AND the blog) that you're doing well. :)

Congrats Carrie. That is so exciting for you guys. It is not to bad of a bulge but it shows that you are on your way to getting a belly.

I can't tell Carrie-you are such a little thing!! All I can say is enjoy the maternity clothes this time around, cause the next time you will probably feel a little less excited-at least I do. I looked for some capris and that was a nightmare. I decided to wait until after the baby, I just couldn't deal with it at the store and the 25.00 price tag was a little discouraging since I have less than two months left. I guess it depends on what brand you find and what style you like.
But I am so glad you are enjoying it! You will make a great super duper mom, and I am so glad you are expecting. Can't wait to find out if it is a little Carrie or a little Aaron!!

Hello cousin friend! Just so you know, we here in Indiana are jumping up and down with excitement over the prospect of your new baby! Hooray! I feel your pain with car sickness and acne. It's lame. But the nice thing about pregnancy is that the suffering 1) has a purpose, and 2) ENDS! :c) Thinking of you guys often - V,J&M
